Auditions

All potential music majors are required to complete an audition. Students who audition for the music program are automatically considered for scholarships. Non-majors who wish to be considered for a music scholarship must audition before the music faculty.

Students wishing to enter the Concentration in Audio/Sound Arts will need to submit an audition application to select a date for an on-campus interview as well as submit an essay.
  • Students who do not play an instrument in a traditional applied medium may apply for admission to the program via essay/interview only.  Those students should select “Audio/Sound Arts – No Instrument” on the audition application and will be placed into a basic course of applied study in voice, guitar, bass, percussion, and electroacoustic instruments if accepted into the program.
  • Students who do play an instrument in a traditional applied medium are strongly encouraged to audition on their instrument and to take a traditional course of study as part of their program (but may choose the alternative form of study).

Audition Dates

You may register for any audition date, regardless of the campus you plan to attend. Please register at least two weeks in advance of the audition date.
