Accreditation at Eastern Florida

SACSCOC circle logo鶹Ƶ is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate and associate degrees. 鶹Ƶ also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Questions about the accreditation of Eastern Florida State College may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling 404-679-4500, or by using information available on the (www.sacscoc.org).

The Commission should be contacted only if there is evidence that appears to support an institution's non-compliance with an accreditation requirement or standard. Day-to-day inquires about the College, such as admission requirements, should be addressed to the appropriate department.

鶹Ƶ was granted initial accreditation by SACSCOC in 1965 and received reaffirmation in 1973, 1983, 1993, 2003 and 2014.

2024 Reaffirmation Process Resources

Eastern Florida is currently going through reaffirmation of institutional accreditation through SACSCOC. During this three-year process 鶹Ƶ developed a comprehensive self-study compliance report and a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) focused on improving student success.

The reaffirmation process included an off-site committee review of the compliance report and an on-site committee visit in October 2023 to evaluate our processes and provide feedback for the next QEP, Rocket to Success: Taking Online Learning to New Heights.

On November 9, 2023, 鶹Ƶ received a positive report from SACSCOC after that on-site peer review team found 鶹Ƶ in full compliance with all institutional standards, setting the stage for formal reaffirmation of accreditation next year. Read more about the review team's report.

Faculty and Staff: View information on how to access the internal Reaffirmation Report inside the my鶹Ƶ Portal plus details on key sections to review and other resources.

The accreditation process is intended to assure educational quality and institutional effectiveness. 鶹Ƶ anticipates full reaffirmation in summer of 2024.
