Our abstract workshop is tailored for students who are presenting at the Annual Research Conference and regional conferences and all are welcome to attend. The virtual workshop will cover:

• The purpose of an abstract
• How to write an abstract for conference submission
• What information to include in your abstract
• How to tailor your abstract for a general audience
• How to apply to Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Annual Research Conference on the conference portal website

CURCA offers two Travel Grant Workshops per year for undergraduates who are seeking funding for travel to present their research or creative activity at external conferences. We host these workshops the week before the deadline. The virtual workshop will cover:

• How to locate the travel grant competition in InfoReady
• General overview of the application and rubric
• Budget overview
• Overview of how to fill out the Student Travel Authorization Form
• Timeline of the travel grant process
• Next steps

CURCA offers one workshop for the Student-Faculty Collaborative Mini Grant competition every fall semester. The virtual workshop will cover:

• How to locate the competition in InfoReady
• Overview of what type of projects are eligible for funding by CURCA
• General overview of the application and rubric
• Brief explanation of what supplies we can purchase if awarded
• Timeline of the process
• Next steps

Our presentation workshop is for Â鶹ÊÓƵ students who are presenting at the Annual Research Conference (ARC) and are presenting either an oral presentation or a poster presentation. The virtual workshop will cover:

• Overview of oral presentation, paper presentation and poster presentation
• Information to include in your presentation and how to present your topic
• How to present during the poster session and how to create a poster
• Tips on presenting to an audience
• General information regarding poster printing deadlines and information for ARC

Please visit DETI’s  (login required) page for Â鶹ÊÓƵ Poster templates and for information on poster printing. Note that students should contact DETI two weeks in advance for poster printing.

If you are a Â鶹ÊÓƵ student and need a poster printed for the Annual Research Conference, please refer to the deadline in your acceptance email to submit your poster file. CURCA only prints posters that are 36” tall x 48” wide.
