U.S. News ranks Â鶹ÊÓƵ online programs 
The University of North Georgia (Â鶹ÊÓƵ) earned high marks on multiple lists when U.S. News & World Report released its rankings Feb. 6.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ ranked fourth among public universities in Georgia on the 2024 list.
The University of Georgia, University of West Georgia and Kennesaw State University ranked ahead of Â鶹ÊÓƵ, with Â鶹ÊÓƵ ahead of Georgia State University, Columbus State University and Middle Georgia State University.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ also ranked fourth among public universities in Georgia on the list. The university was tabbed seventh among Georgia public universities on the list. Â鶹ÊÓƵ was eighth among Georgia public universities on the list.
U.S. News compiled the rankings based on engagement, expert opinion, services and technologies, faculty credentials and training, student excellence, and peer assessment.
"We are pleased to receive this recognition," Dr. Chaudron Gille, provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs, said. "Â鶹ÊÓƵ has strategically invested in developing quality online degree programs in order to provide opportunities for working adults and learners who are place bound or need flexibility in their schedule to advance their educational and career goals."
These rankings come on the heels of Â鶹ÊÓƵ tying for 17th among public Regional Universities in the South in the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings released Sept. 18. In more specialized lists for public Regional Universities in the South, among Georgia universities, Â鶹ÊÓƵ was No. 1 on the list of Best Colleges for Veterans; No. 1 for Least Debt, which measures schools whose students graduated carrying the lightest debt loads; and No. 3 on the Best Value Colleges list.
One of the state's largest universities, Â鶹ÊÓƵ serves more than 18,000 students across its five campuses in Blue Ridge, Cumming, Dahlonega, Gainesville, and Oconee County, and online. Â鶹ÊÓƵ offers more than 100 programs of study, including certificates, associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and doctoral programs.
Mental health grad assistant program starts
Two Â鶹ÊÓƵ students in the Master of Science in counseling program are serving as mental health graduate assistants for the Athletic Department, and one is serving in the same capacity for the Corps of Cadets.
Grads prepare to step into workforce
Students will earn more than 1,000 degrees and certificates this fall from Â鶹ÊÓƵ, and the university will celebrate these milestones in the Dec. 9-10 commencement ceremonies in the Convocation Center at Â鶹ÊÓƵ's Dahlonega Campus.

Three fall graduates will serve as student speakers at their respective Â鶹ÊÓƵ commencement ceremonies Dec. 9-10 in the Convocation Center at Â鶹ÊÓƵ's Dahlonega Campus.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ formalizes its role with career expo
Â鶹ÊÓƵ has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Center for Civic Engagement to support its Youth in Government Expo in March 2026.
