Students place in national sales competitions

Austin Rich placed fifth individually in the National Collegiate Sports Sales Championship to lead Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's sixth-place team finish.

University of North Georgia (Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ) students pursuing marketing degrees with a sales concentration and management degrees have excelled in a trio of national competitions held virtually this spring.

"Students took advantage of the opportunities to compete and become one of our success stories," said Dr. Cindy Rippé, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ associate professor of sales. "This helps them get better jobs and become better prepared for their careers."

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ finished sixth out of 30 teams in the , led by a fifth-place individual showing by Austin Rich. Andrew Nicolini, Jose Martinez and Sebastian Salinas joined Rich on Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's team. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ hosted the virtual event held over a three-week period in February and March with Baylor University and the Atlanta Hawks.

Then, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ placed eighth out of 44 universities in the hosted virtually March 25-27 by Salisbury University. Lauren Williams and Jordan Mallak were the two Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ students on the team.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ students Jessica Berliner, Kaitlyn Bowling and Kaeley Creasman finished in the top 2% out of more than 2,200 competitors in the virtual held April 14-15. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ had 31 students finish in the top 30%, the sixth-highest number among the 63 competing universities and colleges from the U.S., Canada and Germany.  

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ also held the Pitch Yourself Competition sponsored by Consolidated Electrical Distributors on March 31, with Caitlyn Richard taking first place, Juleah Edwards in second, and Berliner in third.
