Ruohan Wu, Ph.D.

Overview
Dr. Ruohan Wu earned her B.A. in Economics from Peking University in China and her Ph.D. in Economics from The Ohio State University. She joined the Department of Economics & Finance at the Mike Cottrell College of Business, University of North Georgia, in 2018 and has been a dedicated Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ faculty member since then.
Dr. Wu’s research primarily examines firm- and industry-level economic growth in the context of globalization. Her broader interests extend to international trade, development economics, R&D strategies, public policy, environmental issues, gender, market structure, and corruption. As an active scholar, Dr. Wu has published extensively in leading academic journals including Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, The World Economy, International Review of Economics & Finance, Economics of Transition and Institutional Change, The Journal of International Trade and Economic Development, and Review of Development Economics, among others.
In addition to her research, Dr. Wu is deeply committed to student mentorship. She serves as a Faculty Mentor in the MCCB Undergraduate Research Program, where she actively engages talented students as research assistants and guides them in developing their own scholarly potential.
