As a supervisor you play an important role in disseminating the culture of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ to others. You also carry an extra responsibility in relaying important communications, making sure projects and business processes are completed, and providing important feedback to those that report to you and helping them grow.
Whether you are hiring someone, evaluating someone's performance, managing projects and suggesting possible learning opportunities, or just need additional information, we've put together information to assist you in your role.

As the liaison between employee and administration, you play a vital role in the management and development of the employees in your department.
To help you in your efforts to effectively manage those employees, we've provided you with the following resources should you need them.

Leave and Time
University Affiliates are guests of the institution that are participating in a variety of activities that support Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s mission.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has three types of affiliates: Non-Paid Affiliates (volunteers, interns, etc.), Paid Affiliates (consultants, dual appointments, etc.) and Military Affiliate

- To begin the process the supervisor and affiliate must complete the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Affiliate Application and send to HR@ung.edu with the subject line ‘University Affiliate.’
- After the application is received, HR will create an onboarding packet in Equifax. The affiliate will receive an email with instructions on how to login and will be provided with a temporary password. Onboarding must be complete before the assignment begin date.
- The affiliate will also receive an email from the background check vendor, Accurate, that instructs them to provide consent to initiate the background check. Please complete as soon as possible so there is no delay in onboarding.
- Once the affiliate completes the onboarding documents, they will receive a ‘Further Action Required’ email that provides important information.
- To finish the process the Affiliate Agreement (for Non-Paid and Paid Affiliates) or the Military Affiliate Agreement (for military personnel) must be completed and sent to HR@ung.edu.
- Once onboarding is complete, the background check has cleared and all required forms are turned in the affiliate can start his/her assignment.
*If email access is requested the HR department will complete an IT account request
