Major/Minor
Psychology/Organizational Leadership Track

Transferred From
Piedmont University

How did you overcome your transfer struggles?
Just by doing this and asking questions. The more curious and able to understanding things the better you can overcome the challenges you face when transferring.

Why did you choose Â鶹ÊÓƵ, and what do you love about being a Nighthawk?
I choose Â鶹ÊÓƵ because It was a more affordable option, relatively close to me and I was recommended it by my brother who Is also planning to go here once he graduates high school.

Major/Minor
Early Childhood and Special Education

How did you overcome your transfer struggles?
I struggled with the online format of the classes. Mentally transferring over from one online format to another proved to be quite difficult, but I was eventually able to understand it after trial and error.

Why did you choose Â鶹ÊÓƵ, and what do you love about being a Nighthawk?

I chose Â鶹ÊÓƵ because I had heard it offered a very good education program, and I had toured one of the five campuses many times during my high school career. The openness of the campus and kind staff always caught my eye. That was when I decided to become a Nighthawk.

Major/Minor
Criminal Justice

Transferred From
Dual Enrollment from Brenau

How did you overcome your transfer struggles?
I made friends with others in my class who had no problem helping me out. Staying in contact with professors who can connect you with outside resources was also a great way to stay on top of things.

Why did you choose Â鶹ÊÓƵ, and what do you love about being a Nighthawk?
I chose Â鶹ÊÓƵ because I did not want to be too far away from home and didn't want to live in a big city. Â鶹ÊÓƵ was the best fit for me because it is up in the beautiful mountains and close to home. I love the community that comes with being a nighthawk. Staff and professors are always by your side wanting to help and see you succeed; everybody is friendly and makes you feel at home.

Transferred From
Kennesaw State University and Georgia Gwinnett College

How did you overcome your transfer struggles?
I overcame my transfer struggles by taking the initiative to be involved in the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Community and the Orientation Team.  I also became involved with my major and the programs offered, allowing me to meet more people who have similar interests and experiences.

Why did you choose Â鶹ÊÓƵ, and what do you love about being a Nighthawk?
I picked Â鶹ÊÓƵ because of how involved the faculty, students, and school is in the orientation and student success process.  I love that I am able to become more involved with that process myself.

Transferred From
Georgia State Perimeter College

How did you overcome your transfer struggles?
I overcame my transfer struggles by trying to make as many friends as possible, specifically friends with people who have been at the school for a while so I was able to have friends who could help me around the family.

Why did you choose Â鶹ÊÓƵ, and what do you love about being a Nighthawk?
I chose Â鶹ÊÓƵ because it was considered a "small school" and I did not want to go to a larger school, it was also very affordable compared to other schools I had looked at.
