According to the National Student of Learning, Voting, and Engagement report, �鶹��Ƶ students participate in elections at a higher rate than other institutions on average.

In fact, more than 72% of �鶹��Ƶ students participated in the 2020 election. (Institute for Democracy & Higher Education, 2022) �鶹��Ƶ encourages students to develop good habits of active citizenship and staying informed, making civic participation a shared value on our campuses.

What are the requirements to register to vote?
To register in Georgia, you must:

be a citizen of the United States

be a legal resident of Georgia and of the county in which you want to vote

be 18 years old within six months after the day of registration, and be 18 years old to vote

not be serving a sentence for conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude

not have been judicially determined to be mentally incompetent, unless the disability has been removed

What are the requirements to vote in person?
If you are voting in person in Georgia (including voting early), you must present one of the following forms of ID at the time you vote:

Georgia driver’s license, even if expired

Georgia voter ID or other ID card issued by the State of Georgia, any other state, or the US government

Employee photo ID issued by the US government, Georgia government, or any county, municipality, board, authority, or other Georgia government entity

Valid US passport ID

Valid US military photo ID

Student photo ID card issued by a Georgia public college, university, or technical school

Valid tribal photo ID

What is Absentee voting? How do I do it?
Absentee ballots are an option for registered voters who prefer not to vote in person. You do not need an excuse to request an absentee ballot. You must request an absentee ballot in order to receive one in the mail. Your County Registrar's Office must receive your ballot before the polls close on Election Day to be counted.

What is early voting?
Early voting (sometimes referred to as advanced voting) can help voters avoid crowds or find a time to vote that’s better for their schedules in the weeks prior to Election Day.

Yes, you can! Law requires that counties provide polling locations that are accessible for individuals with disabilities.

Georgia’s paper ballot system includes adjustments to accommodate a variety of disabilities.

Sip-and-puff devices can be accommodated.

The visually impaired may use an app on their phone to read their ballot before they cast it.
