Nursing (BSN)

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program is for students who want to become a registered nurse. Through rigorous classes, practice in our simulation labs, and intensive clinical experiences, you'll be prepared to be a nurse generalist with knowledge and skills to practice in acute and community settings.

Upon graduation, you will be eligible to take the national licensure exam (NCLEX-RN) required for practice as a professional registered nurse.

Students in both the Traditional and Accelerated BSN tracks progress through a structured pathway that combines foundational science coursework, hands-on clinical training, and advanced nursing practice.

Foundations

Students begin with prerequisite coursework including:

Preparing for Admission

Students complete required coursework and apply to the nursing major. Admission is based on:

  • GPA
  • HESI exam scores
  • Completion of prerequisite courses

Nursing Coursework

Students begin upper-division nursing courses including:

  • Medical-Surgical Nursing
  • Pharmacology
  • Maternal & Child Health
  • Community Health
  • Evidence-Based Practice

Clinical Experience

Students participate in clinical placements at healthcare facilities across the region, gaining real-world experience working with patients and healthcare teams.
